 STATISTICAL AND NUMERICAL TECHNIQUES  

Unit-I

Correlation, correlation coefficients, calculation of coefficients of correlation, calculation of coefficient of correlation grouped data, scatter diagram, correlation graph, Linear regression and non-linear regression,  Skew ness , measures of Skew ness, coefficient of Skew ness , moments, moments about mean, kurtosis, mean of kurtosis.

Unit-II

Probability theory : Sample space, Events, Probability of events , Probability of union , intersection and complement of events , Conditional probability, Baye’s theorem.

Unit-III

Random variables and distribution : Random variables, Discrete probability distributions: Binomial, Poisson , Hyper-geometric , Continuous probability distribution : Density function and distribution function, Uniform, Exponential , Normal distribution.

Unit-IV

Solution for algebraic  and transcendental equations, Newton method, Deleted Newton method, Regulafalsi method, LU decomposition, Rank of  a matrix, Eigen values, properties of Eigen values, spectral norms trace, power method , Eigen vectors.  

Unit-V

Numerical solution of ordinary differential equations , Eulars, Picard's & Taylor's series method , Range- kutta method, Gill's method, Messons method iterative predictor-corretor .
