OF M.Sc Computer Science
M.Sc.Computer Science
will be in semester pattern with one term and examination at the end
of each semester. Further there will be continuous evaluation with
internal assessment carrying 20% of marks and examination carrying
80%.There will be also student seminar and project work wherever
applicable.
Course
Structure
The
course structure and allotment of maximum marks for this course will be
as may be approved by the academic council with due regard to the
guidelines of Berhampur University.
The
examination marks for M.Sc Computer Science degree examination shall be
2400 which will be distributed amongst four semesters as below.

A
student who fails to appearing in class test (internal assessment exam)
may be allowed to appear the same in case he applies for it with in a
fortnight of the said date of examination showing proper an genuine
ground and pays an amount of Rs.130/- subject to change with out any
proper notice for the above mention test. For this his application should
be allowed by the Principal on recommendation of HOD.
Marks
distribution in theory papers
Procedure
of setting in every theory paper carrying 100 marks.
There
will be five units in each paper, carrying 16 marks each. Each unit will
have short type question carrying 4 marks and long type question
carrying 12 marks with an alternative choice each.

marks in both university examination and internal assessment
examination taken separately shall be pass mark for each theory
paper.

of marks in both university examination and internal assessment
examination taken separately shall be pass mark for practical paper
and project works.

A
student who passes all the papers of a semester in the manner
specified above and obtains a minimum 50% aggregate of marks shall be
declared to have passed the semester examination.

A
student securing a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate but fails of
atmost on one or two papers (theory and practical ) will be allowed
to appear once only in the failed papers in the relevant semester examination in subsequent two years.

A
student failed in more than two papers has to be appear a fresh in
all the papers of semester in the subsequent year/years.

A
student who passes on all the paper but fails to obtain the minimum
of 50% aggregate marks may be allowed to raise his marks by
appearing not more than two theory papers of his choice of that
semester but such a students shall be allowed to appear only once
during the immediate next two years .

A
student who passed in semester examination but desirous to improve
his aggregate may be allowed only once to improve his performance
in the more than two theory papers of a semester provided he does so
with in 8 semester from the date of his admission to the course. In such cases the better of the two marks will be considered for
declaring the class.
Student
who has cleared all the semester successfully will be awarded
1st class distinction |
If he has cleared each of the semester
in one attempt and has secured at least 70% of marks in the
aggregate of all the four semester taken together. |
1st class |
If he has cleared all the
semesters securing at least 60% of marks in aggregate. |
2nd class |
If he has cleared all the semester
securing at least 50% of marks in aggregate. |
Publication
of the result
As
soon as possible after the examinations are overed,the examination committee
some publish the list of successful candidates arranged
in order of merit as specified in the regulations.
Award
of degree
Each
successful candidates who has passed all the four semesters shall
receive his M.Sc Computer Science degree in the prescribed form
specified the class in which he is placed .A student securing first position
from among as the 1st class distinction positions shall be
presented with a certificate of the merit signed by the principal
in addition to his diploma.
